Bidirectional DN200 Stoppling with DN150 Hose Bypass: A Practical Innovation
In Prague, we recently carried out a technically advanced project for Pražská plynárenská – a bidirectional VTL stoppling of DN200 piping, using a DN150 hose bypass.
This was a milestone for FASTRA: the first time we deployed our new VTL stoppling equipment in combination with a DN150 high-pressure hose bypass in the field.
Why hose bypass?
Standard methods would require welding steel piping to maintain system flow, which means longer preparation and more waste. Our PN40-rated hose enabled a fast, flexible, and clean installation, without welding.
Once stoppling was completed, no cutting or disposal of steel piping was needed, making the process both efficient and environmentally friendly.
Result? Stoppling without shutdown.
The flow of gas was safely and reliably interrupted with no service outage, even in a critical urban area. This project once again confirms the benefits of innovative and practical field solutions.
