On one of our recent projects in Pilsen, we faced a combined task that required a high level of interplay, precision and technical know-how. Our goal was to replace the fittings and at the same time temporarily stop the flow of cooling water – all without any restrictions on the customer’s operation.
Air stop on DN100
The first part of the work was carried out on the DN100 pipeline, where we used the technology of double-sided air stop under a pressure of 7 bar to enable the safe replacement of ball valves. The entire intervention was planned so that the operation of the Pilsen heating plant was not disrupted – it continued to run at full capacity.
Cooling water shut-off on DN150
At the same time, just a few dozen meters away, we stopped the flow of cooling water on the DN150 pipeline at an overpressure of 2.5 bar. In this case, too, it was necessary to carry out the intervention during operation, without any downtime or supply restrictions.
Universal STOPL-S-F1 technology
In both cases, we used our own STOPL-S-F1 device, which is designed specifically for this type of task – a flexible, safe and universal solution for interventions on pressurized pipeline systems.
The intervention confirmed that stopping is not just an emergency solution, but a full-fledged tool for planned maintenance and modernization without downtime.
And a small reward at the end
After successfully completing the intervention, our technicians deserved a symbolic reward – right at the source (Pilsen beer).
After all – while we are in Pilsen…
