During May 2026, we carried out several additional specialized interventions on high-pressure gas pipelines. Both projects involved the use of zero-emission technologies, which make it possible to perform the required work on active gas infrastructure without the need for a complete shutdown of operations.
Hot Tapping and Line Stopping of a DN300 High-Pressure Gas Pipeline in Prague
The first project took place in Prague on a DN300 high-pressure gas pipeline operating at a pressure of 24 bar. The scope of work included line stopping operations, enabling the pipeline to be isolated under pressure without interrupting service.
As part of the project, a double DN80 bypass was installed to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to two pressure regulating stations during the repair of the existing pipeline. The work also included the replacement of an insulating joint.
For this project, we utilized proprietary technologies and equipment developed and manufactured by FASTRA for specialized pipeline services. Thanks to these advanced solutions, similar interventions can be performed safely, efficiently, and without affecting gas supply to end users.
Work on a High-Pressure Gas Pipeline in the Ústí Region
Another project was completed in May in the Ústí Region. The pipeline isolation under pressure was carried out as part of disconnecting an existing DN150 branch from an 8-bar system and preparing it for the transition of part of the network to an operating pressure of 22 bar.
The project was executed in cooperation with GasNet. This type of intervention allows a section of the gas distribution network to be safely isolated without requiring a complete shutdown, which is particularly important for actively utilized infrastructure.
The work required thorough preparation, precise coordination of all activities, and an experienced field team. Similar projects are a routine part of our operations in the field of zero-emission technologies and pipeline maintenance services.
Technologies That Keep Infrastructure in Operation
Both projects demonstrate the importance of modern zero-emission technologies in the maintenance and modernization of gas infrastructure. These technologies make it possible to carry out repairs, modifications, and pipeline reconstruction safely, efficiently, and with minimal impact on operations and end users.
At FASTRA, we have long specialized in maintenance and service work on gas pipelines, water pipelines, oil pipelines, and other transmission systems. We utilize our own technological solutions developed through extensive practical experience gained from projects carried out both in the Czech Republic and internationally.
