Special work on the DN80 water pipeline at the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant
At the beginning of 2024, FASTRA faced an unusual challenge at the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant, where we carried out a line-stopping operation on a DN80 water pipeline at a pressure of 4 bars.
What made this project so specific was the position of the pipeline; the work had to be carried out with the pipe in a vertical position, making this entire operation a special challenge.
The work attracted a lot of interest from onlookers, who were fascinated by our technology. We were glad to answer all the questions we were asked, only those from our partner’s staff, but also from responsible ČEZ, a.s. representatives, and we showed them how our technology works.
The main service work, commissioning and closure of the fittings all went without a hitch, as expected.
