Gas Worker of the Year 2026 – we were there
When people hear “gas industry,” most imagine infrastructure, pipelines, and technology. However, the Gas Worker of the Year 2026 competition also highlights another side of the field – young talents who are learning a trade with a future and pushing it forward.
Gas Worker of the Year is an international secondary school competition in which two-member student teams compete in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the gas industry. This year’s final took place on March 25–26, 2026, at the Brno Building Fair, where the competition is part of the multi-disciplinary Czech Championship of Vocational Students “Masters of Everyday Life.”
The general partner of the competition is GasNet, a company that has long supported the development of gas industry professions and actively promotes study and career opportunities in the energy sector to the public.
FASTRA as a Silver Partner and active supporter
FASTRA participated in this year’s edition as a Silver Partner, and its support had a very concrete form.
In addition to the partnership itself, FASTRA also contributed small gifts to the competition, which were used to reward the best students. In this way, the company not only motivates young talents but also shows them that their efforts and professional skills have real value in practice.
An important part of FASTRA’s involvement was also the personal participation of industry experts. Josef Nádvorník represented the company as a competition commissioner. Thanks to his professional experience, he contributed to the objective evaluation of the competitors’ performances and at the same time represented the connection between education and real-world practice.
