DN200 High-Pressure Gas Pipeline Isolation Under Full Operation – 3 Bypasses and an Angled Hot Tap
For Výstavba sítí Kolín a.s., we carried out a one-sided line stop (pipeline isolation under pressure) on a DN200 high-pressure gas pipeline operating at 23 bar.
The project included the installation of three bypasses connected to the section valve. This solution enabled all work to be completed without shutting down the entire pipeline section.
One of the interesting aspects of this project was a pipeline hot tap that had to be performed at an inclined angle due to the way the pipeline was installed. However, this technical challenge posed no difficulty. FASTRA technology allows hot tapping at virtually any angle, enabling us to respond flexibly even to non-standard field conditions.
Hot tapping at various angles is a routine part of FASTRA’s operations, allowing us to successfully handle technically demanding conditions that could limit conventional methods.
The purpose of the project was the removal of an existing drip pot (condensate collector) from the gas pipeline.
As the project took place close to our headquarters in Libenice, between Kolín and Kutná Hora, colleagues from our office took the opportunity to observe the work directly in the field. Visits like these provide valuable experience for commercial and administrative staff. They help them better understand site conditions, the scope of individual activities, and the technical challenges faced by our field teams when working on pipeline systems. The knowledge gained subsequently supports customer communication, quotation preparation, documentation processing, and project administration.
We would like to thank Výstavba sítí Kolín a.s. for their trust and look forward to future cooperation.
