Our specialists at FASTRA, s.r.o. once again demonstrated their expertise in performing a bilateral closure of the DN80 high-pressure gas pipeline at a unique 70° angle. This technically demanding intervention required an innovative approach that minimized risks and costs, all in demanding conditions.
We were recently called upon to perform a demanding intervention after a car accident near Horoměřice, in which the walkway of the route ball valve of the high-pressure gas pipeline was damaged.
Considering the pressure in the pipeline, which reached up to 25 atmospheres, it was necessary to proceed with maximum caution to avoid further damage or safety violations. After the initial intervention of the gas engineers, our specialists proposed a solution, which minimized costs and risks with an innovative approach.
Instead of the method of stopping the VTL DN300, which would be quite expensive, we decided on a more effective option - bilateral closure of the VTL DN80 gas pipeline at a unique angle of 70°. For this, we used the STOPL-S4-F1 stopping set, which proved to be the optimal solution in terms of safety and efficiency.
This project demonstrates not only our technical precision, but also our ability to quickly respond to unexpected situations and find innovative procedures that save time and costs.
