At the beginning of April this year our company faced a new opportunity and a new challenge. A new stoppling device for steel pipes with an operating pressure of up to 40 bars was presented at the FASTRA Cup back in 2021. Yes. Our new STOPL-S2-F1 DN300 PN40, which we wrote about here.
This involved closing a DN300 steel gas pipe with an operating pressure of 21 bars to insert a new pipeline closure.
In order to maintain the flow of the medium during the whole process of inserting the new pipeline closure, a bypass was required, which we also provided as part of our work. The 21-bar operating pressure meant that a flexible hose could not be used. Before the work started our fitters worked with the design office to prepare a DN80 bypass pipe.
To hot tap the high-pressure pipe an all-circuit fitting needed to be used, which was also developed by our design office. The entire job was completed smoothly according to the precisely planned schedule.
